step up your basics with this..

| B A N D A N A S |

the once 90s trend worn as a headband or even as a top (cue Buffy the Vampire Slayer), is making its way back as a top accessory this year. Except this time, with more of a statement.

Step up your basics with a bandana accessorized around your neck. Aka “necker chief” Running late? Throw up a messy bun & tie a bandana around your neck. Add a bright lip, and your once in a hurry or causal look leaves you feeling like a fashionista.

For my girls on a budget, like me…a thrift shop or online store such as Asos has bandanas under $10.

For my girls looking to splurge on this accessory, Free People has your standard bandanas and embellished bandanas that jingle as you walk.

Live music// In The Valley Below

as soon as I heard these guys were coming to my hometown, I jumped in my car and drove all the way home!

If you don’t know who I’m talking about, let me introduce you to In The Valley Below. You’ve probably heard their hit song “Peaches” but they’ve got an entire album (The Belt) full of amazing songs!

If there’s one thing I love, besides a good cup of coffee, it’s a good live show! These guys nailed it.

They are such beautiful individuals that sound even better live, and are so in sync with each other in many ways. Their use of chains to create a beat was my fav aspect!

Half priced wine, how could I not?

Got an autograph CD for driving the distance

I am super nerdy and was nervous to ask for a picture but they’re SO nice! I will deff be going to see them again!

I’m pretty sure they sound even better LIVE! So, check em out if you haven’t! Thanks Ogden Tap room and Modern Rock for having them!

“Stop smiling so big”…

my first time seriously being in front of a camera and I couldn’t stop smiling…and not because I was pumped. More so from being awkward! It was such a wonderful experience shooting photos for Free People though! The local photographer, Michelle Lyerly did an amazing job shooting my co workers and I.

I’m talking about a L E A P of faith

It may be a little late at night, but someone out there may need this. I feel the need to share because moving away from home was a leap of faith for me. Though it was a small one, only two hours away into a bigger city…it was the BIGGEST step. Self discovery is the most empowering and amazing feeling. I dare you to take your leap of faith and find your undiscovered strength.

H O M E: is where the waves crash

Coming home for Mother’s Day was an excellent choice. Seeing my family and smelling the sweet smell of the salty air makes all my stresses go away.

Growing up on the beach is indescribable. It’s a feeling that doesn’t compare to being anywhere else. Even though we were under a tropical storm warning, I had to make my little sister go to the beach with me! We went to the local coffee shop and got a Toffee Coffee! I tell you, the salt air and ocean has the ability to make any struggle disappear. Thankful for His creation.
